The WWS&R course is a 2 day course covering safety and rescue skills on grade 2 such as throw lines, defensive and aggressive swimming, paddler rescues and more. So this is essential training for anyone paddling white water rivers, meaning you are able to help out with any rescues. It is also a pre-requisite for those looking to river leader qualifications.
Its also great fun!!
Venue: The plan is that this will in the north west/ yorkshire (using the Wharf / Lancs Calder / Ribble and Lune / Leven / Kent as a backup). So can be done as day trips from home
You need to be:
- Happy paddling grade 2
- Prepared to get wet – all weekend!
- Have suitable clothing to spend the weekend getting wet (drysuit advised)
Cost: will be £85 per person for the course. Also payable on the course is a BC certificate fee (£5 for BC members, £10 for non-BC members) and any water fees for the venue (depending on location).
NOTE: There are 6 places available on this course. If it is full please email to to join the waiting list. If there is demand we can seek a second tutor to increase the course to 12 people.
