Sorry, but I’m going to have to cancel the club trip you on 9th Dec due to a shoulder injury that means I’m not able to paddle or lead this trip.
Sorry, but getting myself fixed for the long term has to take priority.
The plan is to go and do an intermediate to advanced river trip – probably grade 3 with some grade 4 rapids on the way. Option include various sections of the Tees, Lune, and many more within a reasonable drive from the club. Rather than commit to a particular river, we’ll see what river levels are likely to be in the week before the trip and make a decision a few days in advance. If water levels are low we’ll try and find a suitable alternative.
Difficulty: Generally we’ll be paddling grade 3/4 white water potentially with sections that can’t be inspected from the bank, so you need to be confident on grade 2/3 river trips. Suitable for intermediate /advance club paddlers that have reasonable previous river trip experience.
Where is it: Near Ripon
Where do we meet: At the club at 8am to load up / organise car shares. If you plan to travel separately contact the organiser for details of where and when to meet us near the river.
What do I need: Normal paddling equipment (wetsuit/warm clothing – not wetsuit shorts – and waterproof top, buoyancy aid, spray deck, helmet), pack lunch and hot drink (in a flask), plus snacks, change of clothing (including warm clothes for after paddling), towel.
Organiser: Les Ford 07786 525912 or email@example.com
Other Information: We will also need a consent form / parents permission for any under 18’s that want to come on a trip. Download a consent form from the ‘Club Policies’ Page (under Health & Safety section).
If you are not sure whether you are up to this trip, speak to the contact listed for that trip, who will be able to advise you further.
If you plan to come on this trip, please let the listed contact know that you are coming – this is so we know who to expect (and make sure we wait for you) and on some trips numbers can be limited. Also plans may change at a late stage (due to water levels etc), so we might need to get hold of you to let you know.
