Stay safe on the water – Spend a day learning skills to keep yourself and others safe on the water
The Foundation Safety & Rescue Training Course is a one-day course to learn and practice skills to stay safe and help others on flat water.
It is a very useful for anyone heading out on the water, and a largely practically based course learning and practicing various techniques for personal safety, self rescue and rescue in others. It is needed for people progressing to Club coaching and Activity Assistant roles.
You need to be:
- Over 14
- Have 2 star skills (you don’t have to hold the award, but need to be able to move your boat into position to do the various rescues).
- Have suitable clothing for spending much of the day in the river ! (We can probably help with this if you are struggling for suitable kit)
Cost: We are running this for club members so the only costs are the certificate fees of £5 (British Canoeing members), £10 (non BC member)
