Burrs Country park, Introduction to whitewater

We are running  the ever popular Burrs Trip again as an introduction and refresher for those wanting to sample the delights of gentle moving water under the expert guidance and coaching of Les Ford.   This trip is open to all who have previously undertaken our Summer sessions and /or have run the Whitewater course at the Club in Sowerby Bridge. If you feel uncertain as to whether the Burrs is suitable for you please drop me an email .

What do I need to bring  ?  Boat, paddle , Paddling kit ( no swim shorts) Buoyancy Aid, Helmet, water shoes ( that you don’t mind getting soaked) , towel, change of clothes, packed lunch, money ( there is a café and pub on site)

What if I don’t have the necessary kit ?  We`ll sort you out with club helmets, spraydecks, Buoyancy aids, boats and paddles but you must specify in advance what you require on your email of attendance.

Parents and more than welcome to join us on this trip as there is a footpath all alongside the river giving great viewing and photo opportunities.  There is also ample, free parking so any offers of lifts for paddlers or boats or both ! will be greatly appreciated.

Meet up .  Please be at the Club house for 9.00 for a 9.30 depart or meet us at the Burrs for 10.15 am if you`d prefer to make your own way there ( with your own kit )

How do I sign up ?  Drop me an email – Events@halifaxcanoe.org.uk  , many thanks , Mike Scholefield
