Tuesday
Awe - grade 2/3. A very chilly start - minus 2.5 and very low levels mean the lower
Orchy is out, but the compensation flow out of the barrage at Loch Awe is just enough
to scrape down.
Les' YMCA inspired warm up routine falls flat - at least the sun is out
Too cold to get changed - minus 2.5 degrees in Glen Orchy does nothing to inspire
any one
Source to sea - paddling from the source of the river at the barrage out onto Loch
Etive
It happens to us all - Les empties out after a swim while the group try to stifle
there laughter.
Wednesday
Tay - grade 1/2(3). Now we were getting desperate for water, so a 2 hour drive across
country to the river Tay, finishing at the slalom site at 'Tully'. The Tay is a big
river, draining a big loch. Five days after any really rain it was surprisingly high,
so provided a great introduction to big volume paddling
It doesn't look too bad from here - looking down he Tully slalom course from the

Meanwhile Sarah sits in the sun waiting to pick up the pieces at the bottom of the
rapid
Ok it's bigger than it looks Mark fights through the big waves
Meanwhile dad plays a visit to one of the stoppers at the top of the course
Nick takes it all in his stride - despite the waves being bigger than his boat
