Once again this year the Club is playing its part in ensuring we paddle in clean environment by doing a number of river clean ups.
The next one of these is Saturday 8th October -
There is lots of rubbish along the white water course after the high water levels over the winter and we want to have a good clean up before the summer sessions begin. So we hope you want to come along and get down and dirty with the rubbish.
The event is open to all young and old. Full paddling kit is needed if you want to
go on the water; the Canadians are out so you too can paddle like Native American
Indians.
For those bank dwellers you will need full waterproofs and thick shoes. We will need everyone to wear helmets and Buoyancy Aids to protect you from accidental trips or fall into river etc.
We will be issuing gloves to protect your hands, and drinks and light refreshments will be provided too. So great wet and dirty fun in which we give back to our environment and community in which we paddle.
On the same day we also need to get the slalom course up for the following week’s event.
This is a high profile event for the club, showing that we care for our environment
as well as enjoying it -
Thanks
