Winter is coming but the paddling goes on. Here’s what is available over the winter months (see below for dates and contacts):

Pool sessions - an ideal way to learn to paddle, brush up your skills or learn to roll in warm water. Available to beginners and experienced alike. Session details can be found here.

Sunday Paddling Sesions - these general paddling sessions will run most months throughout the winter (check the events list for dates) from 10am till about 12noon.

These are for Club members who want to keep paddling over the winter, but can't make the river trips. There will be coaches around to help anyone that wants some coaching or encouraging, but these won't be formal coached classes. Paddling will generally be on the river/white water course, but may be an impromptu trip up the canal and back on the river. However, these will not be beginners sessions! You need to competent paddling on the river at the Club and have warm kit to paddle in.

Slalom sessions -  will be running through most of the winter on a Wednesday evenings. There will also be a monthly training session at other slalom venue or to at the club over the winter. Speak to Les Ford  01484 854099 or email.

Friday evenings - Although not a club session, if you are experience and have your own gear there will usually be people paddling on a Friday evening (rather than Thursdays as previously) - speak to John Stopford  01422 367337 or email.

Winter River Trips

We have a series of river trips over the winter. Those that have been confirmed are listed here, but others may be added so keep checking on the events page for the latest details.

As we need to load up, drive to river, sort boats and cars out and paddle the river in time to be off the river before dark, we need to make an early start - please check the details for each trip. Each trip will be a full day, so you'll need lunch and hot drink with you.

We will also need a consent form / parents permission for any under 18's that want to come on a trip. Click here to get a consent form to print off

Important - If you plan to come on a trip, you must let the listed contact know that you are coming in advance. We need to know who to expect so we can make sure we have enough coaches available and so we know those coming are up to doing the trip (and make sure we wait for you). On some trips numbers can be limited and plans may change at a late stage (due to water levels etc), so we might need to get hold of you to let you know. If you don't speak to the organiser in advance they don't have to take you on the trip! (to be clear - in advance means a few days so we have chance to arrange extra coaches etc as necessary!!)

If you are not sure whether you are up to the particular trip, speak to the contact listed for that trip, who will be able to advise you further.
