Where is it ?: North Wales

What is it like?: I’m being deliberately vague here, not for a sense of mystery, but because it will really depend on the water levels.

The trip I want to do is the LLugwy, a nice grade 2/3 with a couple of portages around nastier bits! This starts by Plas-y-Brenin at Capel Curig. But if the water isn’t there it’s a waste of time going. The back up plans would be the Tryweryn (if there’s a release) or going to Mile End Mill in Llangollen – both of which offer good grade 2/3 paddling.

Where do we meet ?: At the club at 8am to load up / organise car shares. Obviously I’ll let those who are coming know what the plan will be a couple of days before when we know what river levels are likely to be.

What do I need ?: Normal paddling equipment (wetsuit / warm clothing and waterproof top, buoyancy aid, spray deck, helmet). Note: wetsuit shorts are not appropriate for a full day trip, please bring wind/waterproof trouser to wear over them.

If you plan to come on a trip, you must contact the organiser in advance to agree your participation in the trip- so we know who to expect (and make sure we wait for you) and on some trips numbers can be limited. Also plans may change at a late stage (due to water levels etc), so we might need to get hold of you to let you know.
