A date for your diaries is 25-26 September when we are heading to West Tanfield for the weekend. Ok it’s the slalom weekend, but  its also a huge social weekend for paddlers - last year we managed about 22 club paddlers racing over the weekend and I am determined to beat that this year !!

This is a Div 3/4 event, with a race each day. So two chances to get it right, lots of opportunity to practice the course, and you're competing against other beginners! For those that are really keen we’ll have a Start Slalom Course running in the few weeks before this event . And if you are really, really keen we’ll be up at the campsite early afternoon so if you can sneak out of work there’ll be a chance to practice while the river is quiet!!

If that's not tempting you - why not go for the Topo Duo slalom - great fun, and not even a hint of serious racing! (please don't make me do it -it's like paddling a bath tub! - now there's an idea).

Plus it’s a good family atmosphere and a chance to socialise and be part of the wider Yorkshire paddling fraternity - you’ll be amaze how many people like you that there are out there! You can also join in our cheerleading team!

And there's usually a hog roast on the Saturday night too!

Camping is available on site so you only have to fall out of bed seconds before your run. The site is well equipped with showers and proper loo's - plus its fairly cheap through the slalom.

For those that don’t know, the event is at Slenningford Mill, West Tanfield. This is a few miles north of Ripon (right by Lightwater Valley for those that we can’t get iinto a boat!)

Also if there is demand I am happy to take the trailer with boats on it - let me know if you want a space, but priority will be to get boats there for people who can't transport their own.
