Youth Freestyle Success Congratulations to James Stopford who has come second overall in the under 12yrs boys class in the BCU’s Youth Freestyle Series. Throughout the year we have been mentioning the Youth Freestyle series - a playboating coaching and competition of events for under 18’s - the aim being to encourage and develop youngsters in this area of the sport. Several of our young paddlers have taken in part in these events. Late September saw the final event at Boulters Weir down on the Thames, and to qualify for the end of season ranking paddlers had to take part in three events. Two other club paddlers made it into the overall ranking, so honourable mentions also go to Ian Stopford who was 10th in the under 15yrs boys and Tom Hustler who was 13th in the under 18yrs boys |
