Over the summer we are running a couple of coaching days to help paddlers progress to confidently paddling on more advance white water (grade 3 and 4) making use of the Tryweryn and Tees Barrage. Please check out the full details to see if one of these days is for you, and if you are interested get in touch early to book your place as there are limited places on each session.
Introduction to Tees Barrage Trip – Sun 14 August
An official trip to the barrage – this is a coach led session for intermediate paddlers who want to step up to paddling on this level of water (grade 3) and get used to paddling at the barrage so they then feel confident to join the ‘unofficial’ outings to the barrage.
Who is it for: You may be comfortable paddling on the white water at the club and other grade 2 rivers, but want to move on to paddle confidently and in control on harder grade water. this could include those that have paddled down Tees Barrage, the Washburn or similar, but feel they are ‘surviving’ rather than in control.
Intermediate to Advanced Water Coaching – Sat 10 September
This is a coach led session for intermediate paddlers who develop their skills to paddle on more advanced water (grade 3/4). We will use various sections of the Tryweryn to develop everyone’s white water skills on this grade of water.
Who is it for: You should be very comfortable on grade 2 rivers (able to put your boat anywhere you want to) and have experience of paddling down some grade 3 rapids, and ideally have reasonably reliable roll (works most of the time). If you are unsure whether this is suitable for you contact Les to discuss it.
Also look out for a Tryweryn river trip in October – details on the calendar.
