BCU Youth Freestyle Series 2008 Building on the massive increase in entrants to the 2007 series, we have taken the plunge and booked exclusive use at the majority of the venues. So hopefully we can accommodate more youth boaters into the 2008 series. As pervious years, this years Youth Freestyle Series consist of 5 paddling events across the UK. The day is split into two halves, with coaching in the morning followed by a fun freestyle competition in the afternoon. Where events allow we will also hold a boater X or team challenge event where paddlers will race head to head down the river. Events
Rules - The rules for the youth freestyle are a simplified version of the international rules that are used at national and international events around the world. More information about these can the found at the Youth Freestyle website. Age Categories
Experience - Some previous white-water experience and a reasonably reliable white-water roll is necessary. No previous competition or freestyle experience required. Series Ranking - The best 3 out of the 5 event results will go towards a series ranking. There will be big prizes at the end of the series.
