Put on a Santa suit and come for a paddle!
The businesses of Sowerby Bridge are coming together to put a Christmas event in town, and as part of the local community we want to join in. So we are going to do a Santa Paddle
Ok so you may have seen Santa Runs happening in various places where everyone puts on a Santa Suit and goes for a run. Well we prefer paddling to running so we are going to do a Santa Splash!!
When: 1pm meet to start on the water at 1:30pm , until about 3pm
What: It’s a simple idea, get a Santa suit, put it on over your paddling kit and come paddling.
Don’t want to be Santa? Other festive fancy dress will do e.g. The Grinch, an Elf, Reindeer (team up with others and tow Santa in an open canoe?)
Just make sure your fancy dress is ‘water resistant’ and doesn’t get in the way of your paddling (or getting out of a boat safely!)
Who is it for: All club members – we will have paddling on the flat water and white water. (Sorry but this is for existing paddlers only).
Fundraising: We are going to encourage everyone paddling to make a small donation (suggested £3) with all the proceeds going to the Calderdale Flood Fund.
Parking – it is likely to be busy in town so come early to find a parking space (try the industrial estate towards the cricket club).
