Halifax Canoe Club proudly presents the Calder White Water Festival on our lovely stretch of the River Calder right in the heart of Sowerby Bridge. There will be coached sessions on the White Water course on offer, along with a mixture of water based ball games and our “piece de resistance” – Our lovely friends Greg Spencer and Robin Hood Watersports are bringing their demo fleets over for your delight and try outs. We are also hosting our inaugural “Boater X race” later in the afternoon, however, if none of these activities “float your boat ” – see what I did there ! why not come along for a good old fashioned paddle. Food will be for sale too – Chilli`s ( meat and vegetarian), Cakes, buns, cool drinks etc.
This is a family event open to any paddler who is either a member of a Canoe Club or has BC membership. All we ask is that you don’t bring your Cars to the Club house as we are very limited on parking. We will have volunteers out and about who will gladly direct you to the car parks and as it`s a Sunday our local Car parks are free – one at the bottom of Tuel Lane HX6 2LN is only a 2 minute walk to the club and a further one near the Temujin Restaurant HX6 2AG is only a 5 minute walk too.
