Scotland - February 2008 - Part 3

And there's more - the continuing story of our Scottish Adventure. . .

Thursday - Loch Lochy (bouncy waves). The lack of water finally beat us, just a trickle in the Arkaig so we opted for a paddle on the nearby Loch Lochy - with a sea kayak to play in and the opportunity to try out each others boats.

The lack of water doesn't deter Les  John get used to his new sea kayak
Some how Les gets into Nick's playboat and even manages to float. While Nick opts for 'long and pointy' boat (the role is deliberate

Friday - Upper Tummel - grade 2/3(4). A last ditch search for water lead to another 2hr drive to the river Tummel, where a compensation flow from the dam allowed a run, with some tricky grade 3 rapids

Nick has a wobble, but recovers - this is as close as we came all week to getting him wet.  Armed with John's Mamba, Anita is ready for anything.
Shamim negotiates a couple of rocky steps. Everybody out - time to look at the big grade 4

And this is it - trust me it looks worse than it does on the photo. Plastic on the portage trail as the boats take some abuse - I hope there's some left on my boat.

Sarah picks a way through the bedrock slabs Nick bounces down the last big grade 3
